Problem Solving

Today I used rounding and compensating to figure out a maths equation.

First, I highlighted the main keywords. 8, 22 and each.

Next, I wrote the number sentence and rounded the 22 to the nearest tidy number which is 20.

Then, I wrote the number sentence for 8 x 20. 8 x 20 = 160.

Then, I highlighted the 16 in 160 and added the 16 in the 160 to make 176.

Lastly, I wrote the number sentence but with the answer.

This task was quite hard because the second number was over 12.
