Basic Facts Boxes

I completed the speed demon challenge up to 20 (subtraction).

First, I opened up my online stopwatch and my basic facts boxes sheet.

After, I pasted my results onto a google slide. My results were that I got 100/100 and my time was (5 minutes and 45 seconds).

Next time, I should try speed up demon challenge up to 100 and get a better time.

Addition and Subtraction

Addition and Subtraction can be solved by using two stratigies: counting on/back, and rounding and compensating.

Counting on is adding foward using fingers, when the number added is under ten. Counting back is subtracting using fingers, when the number subtracted is under ten.

Rounding and compensating is rounding the added or subtracted number to the nearest tidy number, then compensating for the rounding. Compensatng is done by splitting the new number into the old number and the leftover.

Counting on/back and rounding and compensating are easy stratigies to use for addition and subtraction, when numbers get too big to be solved with basic facts.

Ki-O-Rahi Tournament

My group, PBS team 1, played against 4 schools in a Ki-O-Rahi Tournament.

First ,we played against Po and we were Kiamo and the other team was Taniwha. Kiamo is running around Te au touching the key (ball) to the Po and scoring a try in Kaitiaki and Taniwha is staying in Te roto and trying to hit the key at the Tupu within 5 seconds. We won this game by 17-8

Next ,we played against Stonefield and we had to swap roles each 5 minutes. Some people had to sub in and out because there weren't not enough girls. We won this game by 5-10

Last ,we played against stonefields again but in a different group and we played against glenbrae. These two teams kind of cheated because some people were defending but it was a good game between each other. We lost these two games by 13-10 and 15-7

I enjoyed these games because we won 2/4 games. I should have communicated to my team about what we were going to do. Next time, I should pass the ball instead of trying to hit the Po around the whole field.

Skittle Poppers Party Popper

My group, Skittle Poppers,  created the real party popper from the prototype.

First ,we drew our design which was going on the outside of our party popper. The design for this project was Among Us. The design almost fell off of the cup because maybe we didn't glue enough or I added too much glue.

Next ,we collected our parts for our plan and we collected how much we needed.  The parts for this design were a plastic cup, a bolt, a long rubber band, and some filling to make a cool effect.

Last ,we combined all the different parts together to make it into a real party popper. The striker for this design was so strong that it hit all the confetti out.

The experience was amazing because this project successfully worked. I could have changed the Among Us design to a Skittle design.

SSR Selife | Minecraft: Guide to Exploration

I read a couple of pages on a book called Minecraft: Guide to Exploration.

The first couple of pages I read was about the Minecraft landscapes - Biomes and Naturaly Generated Structures. There are different types of biomes in Minecraft and they are the desert biome, forest biome, jungle biome, swamp biome, nether biome, and other sorts.

The next pages I read were the Mobs. This chapter talks about different types of mobs behaviour, thier special skills, and what they frop when defeated.

The last pages I read was about survival. The most page I was scanning on was the upgrade your shelter page.

I enjoyed this book because I learnt the different types of skils to survive in Minecraft survival mode.

The Skittle Poppers Prototype

My company, Skittle Poppers, invented a party popper using different types of materials.

First we tested different types of parts to see which one is the best.  For example: we used the plastic cup instead of the paper cup. We tested both of these materials to see which one would shoot out the confetti further away. We then figured out that the plastic cup was better than the paper cup.

Next we fixed some of the updated options that we were going to use.  We changed the small plastic cup to a bigger cup, we changed the confetti into a mix of things, we changed the striker into a whiteboard marker, and we changed the elastic band into a thick band.  The striker was the best option because it was strong.

Lastly, we tested the prototype twice to see if there were any problems or there was too much confetti.  For example: We had a problem with the fuzz balls because the fuzz balls were too heavy and too big. This prototype worked and it was effectively strong.

I learned a lot about how to design a party popper and it's needs. My company, Skittle Poppers, found out all the parts were effectively strong.
