The Healer's Apprentice | Reading | QART

For reading we learned a new reading strategy called questioning. I had to copy and paste the four questions based on story called "The Healer's Appreintice". Then I had to answer the main four questions.

I had to place the question. "What is the genre of the book"? An action book.

I had to place the question. "How does Bran feel when Mara is considering whether to help him"? Very sad.

I had to place the question. "What does Bran think of Mara"? Very very selfish.

I had to place the question. "What are the rules for the test"? To come back home at ten o' clock.

I think I found this a little bit easy because it is putting the four boxes in the correct categorie.

Volleyball

When playing volleyball there are different skills that people can learn. The skill people should learn first is a set.

What is a set?
To do a set put the hands above the head.

Put the right leg in the front and the left leg at the back.

When setting the ball the person in front has to bend the legs to keep balanced.

When setting the ball make sure the hands is above your head and a diamond shape.

Predictions

Today I did predictions. The book that I had to predict was Grandparents Day. Predictions is thinking what's going to happen in the future by looking for clues and hints.

First predictionn is: I think Granny and Pop will eat before they go to Grandparents Day. It is incorrect because if they eat before they go to Grandparents Day they would not eat because they have a full tummy.

My second prediction was: I think the text type of Grandparents Day is a narritive. It is correct because it is a made up story.

Last prediction is: I think that Isla is going to throw a party. It is Incorrect because Isla is not gping to throw a party for Grandparents Day because Grandparents Day is at a school.

I think that predicting is a good stratigie for people's knowledge.

Aboriginal Art

The aboriginal art comes from Australia. Some aboriginal art tells us stories from a long time ago.

First we started looking at a story about how a kangaroo got it's pouch. Secondly we had to get a piece of paper and tell the story by using symbles and dot painting. Thirdly we had to get a black piece of paper and get a chalk and we had to choose what animal we were going to draw. Lastly we had to tell the story again using dot painting.
  • Waterholes is two circles and waves in the middle.
  • A man is a curved shape.
  • Rain is straight lines.
  • A sun is a star.
  • Arrows are footsteps.

Properties of Light

Light is an element that make things visible. Property means a characteristic or attribute that something owns.

One property is light is that: light can't show through an opaque object. The experiment showed that a opaque object can block light.

Another property is that: light can create a rainbow because the prism shows all the lights colours from red to violet. The experiment showed that a prisom shows light colours from red to violet
