I used paper because I had no cardboard paper, and coloured paper. If I make a paper boat out of paper towls, then it won't float because it is light and it is a material that gets wet. I had newspapers but I didn't know where they were.
Here are some tips about a boat in a google drawing I made.
Kia ora Hector,
ReplyDeleteFiona here from the SLJ team. Great work completing the Float your Boat kickstart activity! You have done a great job creating a very neat looking paper boat. I really like the way you have labelled your image to share some helpful tips for other learners. Sharp edges, a sharp bottom edge and a sail are great tips!
You are correct that paper towel is not a good option as it is too light and it would get wet! Did you have a look at the kickstart activity where you create different boats and test their floating properties? I think you would really enjoy it!
Keep up the great blogging. I can't wait to see more of your work soon.
Mā te wā,
Fiona (SLJ).

ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at the step it up activity, but I think I would try it out. When I mean I think, I mean I am running out of paper. I had to label it because it gave me an idea of the Which Face Is Real activity.
I can't wait to see more activities you guys have been setting up.
Nga mihi nui
