This week I did an activity called basic facts boxes. The equation I did was addition and subtraction. After that I I had to create a description about my basic facts. My time was 8 minutes and 19 seconeds. I bet my time last week.

This week for writing I was doing descriptive writing. I had to comment to describe what was on the image.

Prototech

This week for Maths I did an activity called Prototech. Prototech is an activity where you can practise your maths. When your done with your sheet you get it marked and then you get an certificate after that. The stage was 2-3 and my time was 1 minute and 34 seconeds.

Prototech

L.I to remember basic maths facts.

This week for maths I did an activity called Prototech. The demond I went was 2-3. When I finished I had to press mark and I got all my questions right and then I got this certifiate. I got 100% and my time was 2 minute's and 18 seconds.

Thinkboards

The task I did for maths was my thinkboard. We had to write a story problem about 38+50. After that we had to try and solve the equation but first we had to practise with some addition. I did my story problem to solve this equation. Lastly we had to explain how we solved the problem. I enjoy thinkboards because it makes it a little bit easiar to solve my maths problems.

I did my basic facts boxes. I did the speed up to 10. I got no answers wrong and my time was 9 minutes and 17 seconds. I will go faster next time.

Complex sentence

For this activity I made an DLO called complex sentence. How to make a complex sentence is to use a simple sentence and add an AAWWUUBBIS in the middle. The AAWWUUBBIS words are after, although, as, while, when, until, before, because, if, since. If you change it to the other way it will sound correct. To find more infomation to make a complex sentence look at my slide that I made.

Maths Tessellation

L.I To create a Tessllation using 2D shapes

A tessllation is an form of pattern used by 2D shapes. In a tessllation 2D shapes are in a reapeted order. In my tessllation my reapeted shapes are an dimond, and an triangle. The reapeted colours are dark green and light green. You can use dfferent shapes to make a tessllation like an dimond, an triangle, or an octagon.

First Waka

Originally there were no people in New Zealand. The first people came to settle in New Zealand came in a series of waka.

The first ten waka were named Kurahaupo, Takitimu, Mataatua, Tainui, Te Arawa, Aotea, Tokomaru, Horouta, Arai-te,uru.

Most of the waka visited the North Island. Some of the places the waka landed at were Tamaki River, Takou bay, and Manukau Harbour.

The ten waka came to New Zealand to discover new lands for people to live.

Compound Sentence

Today I made a slide and it was about compound sentence. To make a compound sentence you need to use FANBOYS in a compound sentence. The FANBOYS words are For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. I used FANBOYS in my compound sentence to complete my compound sentence. FANBOYS are 2 simple sentences and they are also an compound sentence as well.

Listening

KiwiCan was about listening.

We played 'bop the cone' to practise listening for instructions.

We also played 'Chinese whispers' to practise listening and hearing information.

I thought 'Chinese whispers' was a good way to practise listening skills.

Kupe and Captain James Cook

Kupe and Captain James cook are 2 important explorers in NZ history.

Kupe arrived in NZ in the 1100's. He travelled by traditional methods on a traditional sail boat. Myth has it he followed a giant octopus. He did this voyage to find new land for his people to live. His wife named NZ Aotearoa after seeing mountins under the clouds.

Captain James Cook arrived to NZ on 6th of October in 1769. He travelled to NZ on a boat called the Endeavour. He came to NZ because he mapped NZ and he wanted to document mountains.

Kupe is important because he was the first documented person in NZ. Captain James Cook is important because he mapped NZ and opend it up to the world to world to access.

Johnny Depp, Reading

L.I. to learn something new.

This week for reading we did a activity called fact find. I did a famous person and that famous person was Johnny depp. Johnny depp was in a 2017 movie called pirate of a carribean. I never met Johnny depp before. There are some facts about him in this slide I made.

legal and Illegal images

A Legal is an image that can be used with permission by the law. Image creators give legal permission to use their images by adding a sharing license. It is important to use legal images to help creators, and so we don't get in trouble. When using images make sure to check the license for permission.

What is a key word? Key words are words that help to research specific information about a choosen topic. They can also give appropriate information to young learners.

What is a key word for? Key words are for narrowing down the information gainded by an internet search.

Key words can be used to find information that is understandable and readable by childreen.

why do we need to use key words? keywords are useful tools that should be used in every search.
