Fairy Tale Fix Up | Jack and The Beanstalk

I created a plan where I changed every detail of the Jack and the Beanstalk story.

First, I thought of some good stories I could use for this plan. The story I chose for this activity was Jack and the Beanstalk.

Next, I checked on the fractured fairy tale slide on what I had to change. I had to change the characters, setting, conflict, the plot, the ending, the POV, and the create mix match. 

Lastly, I created a google doc with a table 2 x 7 and filled it in with some description.

I enjoyed doing this activity because I can't wait to connect all my ideas together to create my own fairy tale.

Basic Facts Boxes | Up to 100

I completed the speed up demon challenge for addition up to 100.

I got 22/100 and my time was 4 minutes and 34 seconds. The reason of this because I lost my maths skills over the holidays or I just had to stop agonising and just but a random answer in.

Next time, I should practice so that I don’t lose my maths skills.

SSR Selfie | Science

I read a book called Science made by Raymond Huber.

First, I read unit eight about The Rocky Shore. The main topic was The Rocky Shore.

1. The Rocky Shore is the place where land meets the sea. It’s a place of change because the sea is always on the move.

2. Rocky pools have animals such as sea stars (starfish), sea urchins, anemones, and crabs.

3. The Rocky Shore provides us food. Shellfish are popular and sushi is made using seaweed.

I enjoyed reading this unit because it helped me understood where sushi was made from.

Comment Thread

I completed a task called Comment Thread. A comment thread is having a conversation with someone else by commenting with positivie feedback and talking about the learning.

I commented on one of my classmates and her blogpost was called Dance Mat Typing. During a comment thread, you need to have a greeting, a compliment, and a question to ask.

Story Arch

I did a story arch based on a fairy tale called Three Little Billy Goats Gruff.

First, I did the Orientation. The Orientation is introducing the character and describing where the setting is.

Next, I did the Inciting Incident. The Inciting Incident are the events that sets the main character or characters.

Then, I did the Rising Action Problems. The Rising Action Problems is where an event happens with an arguement or conflict.

Then, I did the Climax. The Climax is the main point of the story.

Then, I did the Success or Failure. The Success or Failure is what happened good or bad.

Lastly, I did the Resolution. The Resolution is fixing the problem so things are back to normal.

I enjoyed doing this activity because I explained different parts of the Three Billy Goats Gruff.

HPE | Bring Sally Up

I did a bring sally up, sally down exercise. This exercise was planks.

First, I opened up the youtube video and opened up screencastify.

Lasty, I did the exercise and created the video.

This activity was hard because I didn't warm up before I did the exercise.

I read a book called Science made by Raymond Huber.

First, I read the next couple of pages about animals. The main topic was about science and the different types of species.

1. Sometimes, scientists discover the marks left by ancient animals, such as dinosaurs.

2. Some fossils are found in caves. Caves are good fossils because they are protected from the wind and rain.

3. Animals survive by eating plants or eat other animals, if they are predators.

I enjoyed reading this book because I learnt about different types of fossils.
