Swimming T3W2
Today we went to swimming and learnt new swimming skills.
First we learnt how to do a back stroke. A back stroke is lying backwards and kicking your legs .
Next we learnt how to do a dolphin dive. A dolphin dive is going under water and acting like you're a dolphin.
Thirdly we had to catch a toy. The swimming teacher places the toy in the water, then we go underwater and find the toy.
Its a good way to practise swimming because it helps you get fit and swimming is a sport.
Punctuation
Today for wrting we did punctuation.
First we did an activity called "Identifying Punctuation". This task was an drag exersise.
Secondly we did another activity called "Puctuation Challange". This task is where you have to write a sentence that makes sense and then we add the punctuation that needs to be in the sentecnce. For example: Today I went to school. This sentence has a capital letter a the start, and it has a full stop at the end of the sentence.
I quite enjoyed this task, even though the "Punctuation Challange" was hard.

Multiplication
Multiplication is a faster way to count the same number. For example 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 is counting six 5 times, so 5 x 6 = 30.
These two slides show the 3 times tables and the 6 times tables.

Tangrams
Today I learned how to make tangrams.
I rearranged the pieces to make animal shapes.
First I made a square piece of paper because tangrams are made from a big square.
Then I foleded the square into various shapes and cut them out.
Lastly, I tried to make difficult animal shapes from the tangram pieces.
This activity was diffucult but I still enjoyed it.

Coding and Angles
For this weeks maths task we learnt about coding and angles. I used a protractor to measure the angles.
I traveled to location to location by using coding and angles. The locations were, Cape Reinga, North Head, Sky Tower, and Aoraki. The very first location I went to was Cape Reinga.
First I started from Sky Tower. I turned anticlockwise 50 degrees and moved foward 370 units.
After Cape Reinga I traveld to North Head. I turned anticlockwise 150 degrees and then I moved foward 440 units.
When I got to North Head I traveld to Aoraki.I turned anticlockwise 60 degrees and then I moved foward 370 units.
When I got to Aoraki I traveld back to the Sky Tower.
Using a protractor is a good way to measure angles because it helps figure out the answer.
